Greenhouse gas Reduction through Agricultural Carbon Enhancement network (GRACEnet)  is a nationwide research program administered by the USDA-ARS. The objective of GRACEnet is to identify agricultural practices that will enhance soil carbon sequestration and provide a sound scientific basis for carbon credits and trading programs. GRACEnet addresses greenhouse gases other than carbon dioxide; the program examines nitrous oxide and methane emissions from agricultural management systems.

 

The Land Management and Water Conservation Research Unit is one of about 30 locations nationwide contributing to the GRACEnet program. The nationwide, multi-location network of field studies follow standardized protocols to compare greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration under different management systems.
