Hedge pruning is a potential tool for reducing the magnitude of alternate bearing, but can enhance alternate bearing if improperly used. This is a review of the use of hedge pruning in pecan and how it has been successfully used. This information provides guidelines as to how to best use hedge pruning to control alternate bearing of pecan.
