Interpretive Summary: Washita '94 was a large-scale hydrologic research field program conducted over the Little Washita River Watershed near Chickasha, Oklahoma. The primary objective of these experiments was to provide combined ground- measured and remotely-sensed data sets for modelling and analysis of hydrologic parameters. Washita '94 was a cooperative experiment between USDA-ARS, NASA, other governmental agencies and universities. The objective of the data report is to summarize what was done during the field experiment, what data are or will be available, and to present some representative preliminary results. 

Technical Abstract: Washita '94 was a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary , large-scale hydrologic research field program conducted on the Agricultural Research Service's Little Washita River Watershed located near Chickasha, Oklahoma. The primary objective of the field program was to provide combined ground- measured and remotely sensed data sets for modelling and analysis of hydrologic state and flux variables. The primary hydrologic variable analyzed was surface soil moisture content. The timing of the field experiment was planned to include data collection by the Space Shuttle. Data collection, analysis, and availability and preliminary results are presented.
